Orrick Helps Entrepreneurs Form Italy's First Blockchain and ICO Company

March.02.2018

Our Italy tech team assisted Italian web entrepreneurs Fabio Pezzotti and Domenico Laudonia in the creation of Iconium SpA, the first company in Italy dedicated to investing in blockchain-based fundings and ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings).

Used in crowdfunding campaigns, ICOs enable companies to fund, directly and without intermediaries, ambitious global technology projects using blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Tokens – or digital assets – of a pre-established value can be purchased in pre-sale or during the ICO period and then exchanged on global exchange markets or used by the company, its users and customers.

Iconium’s founders Fabio and Domenico have 20 years of experience in the web sector. Fabio is a serial entrepreneur who founded Webnext S.p.a. and Xoom.it (acquired by Seat Pagine Gialle), and helped launch Mobango, Chupamobile and Cibando in London. Domenico has more than a decade of experience in early stage investing and helped launch the Italian startup Omnitel and other disruptive digital businesses such as Qualcomm in Italy.

Our team was led by Attilio Mazzilli and Marco Zechini.
